“The great day of the nation” event in celebration of Nooruz at KSU
On March 20, Kyrgyz State University named after I. Arabaev hosted an event entitled “The great day of the nation” in celebration of Nooruz. The event was attended by KSU’s Rector Aigul Abdraeva, a group of faculty members and students. During the event activities included the ceremonial opening of sumolok and a series of national games such as tug-of-war, Kyrgyz wrestling, “ordo” (a traditional game) and arm wrestling competitions. The primary goal of this festive event was to promote national culture, revitalize traditional customs, and strengthen patriotic feelings among the students.
