Sumolok cooking event for Nooruz celebrations at KSU

Today, on March 19, the Rector of Kyrgyz State University named after I. Arabaev Aigul Abdraeva inaugurated a sumolok cooking event in celebration of Nooruz. The event was attended by university leadership, department heads, administrative staff, faculty members and students.

Nooruz symbolizes renewal and is marked by special traditions. During the event, a festive atmosphere was created with a yurt set up and decorated accordingly. Additionally, rituals such as making festive pastries and preparing sumolok were performed. Elders participated in the event, offering blessings. Information about the significance of Nooruz and the method of preparing sumolok was also provided. The event was organized by the Institute of History and Social-Legal Education named after E.J. Maanaev at KSU.
