Scientific seminar on “Teaching biology students through epics and the Kyrgyz “Aysanak” calendar” held at KSU
Department of Biodiversity within the Institute of Natural Sciences and Tourism named after M.M. Botbaeva at Kyrgyz State University named after I. Arabaev Candidate of Geological Sciences and Senior Researcher at the Institute of Geology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic Jumakadyr Karamoldojev conducted a scientific seminar, titled “Teaching Biology Students through epics and the Kyrgyz ‘Aysanak’ Calendar.”The event was attended online by faculty members from Miras University in Kazakhstan. The seminar aimed to expand biology students understanding of nature and integrate the ancient knowledge of the Kyrgyz people into the educational process. Discussions included natural phenomena, flora, and fauna mentioned in Kyrgyz epics and the “Aysanak” calendar, which is based on ancient Kyrgyz observations of seasonal changes and was historically used in agriculture.
The event was organized by the Institute of Natural Sciences and Tourism at KSU.
