The elements on the flag reflect the national spiritual worldview and the historical journey of the Kyrgyz people. The combination of these symbols in the state flag signifies eternal values, sacredness, and the people’s commitment to remembering their past while stepping confidently into the future. The Ak Kalpak, the national headdress of the Kyrgyz people, is comfortable to wear—cool in summer and warm in winter. The Kyrgyz people have long interpreted the Ak Kalpak as a symbol of the Ala-Too mountains. Among traditional Kyrgyz clothing, the Kalpak is considered the most sacred.
